From a series of recent decisions of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, it has arisen a new interest in the right to damages and, in particular, the compensation derived from extra-contractual liability. However, unlike other countries, these subjects have not been extensively addressed by the Mexican academy. This opens a wide scope of action for the study of innovative topics that address the loophole that exists in the national forum.
In this context, the Center inaugurates a research agenda on repair of damage in which jurisprudential analyzes, seminars, conferences and publications will be developed. The line of research will address different subjects including the construction of the concept of extra-contractual liability, the effect of compensatory and punitive damages, and the parameters for determining compensation in the jurisprudence, as well as empirical matters such as the effectiveness of the figure with respect to its own purpose
