The voice of children and adolescents in family justice in Yucatán

Executive summary

Reseña

This study seeks to contribute to improving the operationalisation or effectiveness of constitutional, conventional and legal standards in access to justice for children and adolescents. It is an exploratory study and does not claim to be representative; however, despite this limitation, it highlights some of the experiences, perceptions and needs of children and adolescents who have interacted with the family justice system in Yucatán. It uses a child rights approach or perspective, focusing on the informed and respectful participation of children and adolescents, recognising their right to participate and be heard in conditions of dignity, safety and respect.
